Partners and Organizations

Airfactz has joined forces with several different organizations to better educate and equip ourselves to stay informed about new laws and regulations that affect the background screening industry. These organizations and associations are listed below.

NAPBS

The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) exists to promote ethical business practices, promote compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and foster awareness of issues related to consumer protection and privacy rights within the background screening industry.

Founded in 2003 as a non-profit trade association, NAPBS serves to represent the interest of companies offering employment and background screening. NAPBS offers an opportunity for qualified companies to participate in shaping the body of knowledge and regulations impacting our futures.

Washington Restaurant Association

Founded in 1929, the Washington Restaurant Association is the leading business association representing the state's hospitality industry.

The WRA, which includes an Education Foundation, responds to member needs by providing a variety of programs that help businesses succeed. This includes educational classes, such as food safety and alcohol server training, and many business assistance programs, such as a workers' compensation program, health insurance and financial and legal consultation.

In addition to these programs, the WRA provides government relations services. The association directly represents members through lobbying efforts with the state Legislature and has one of the most sophisticated and effective grassroots lobbying organizations in the state.

Washington restaurants are the cornerstones of the economy, community and careers. With a workforce of 186,000 employees, the restaurant industry is the largest private employer in the state. The 12,000 Washington restaurants annually contribute $9.4 billion to the state economy, generate $555 million in state taxes, and pay employees more than $2.6 billion each year.

BROA

The Benton-Franklin Rental Owners Association (BROA), an incorporated non-profit organization, primarily represents members from Richland, Kennewick and Pasco (commonly called the Tri-Cities).

The organization was formed in 1962 by a group of concerned rental property owners. It was founded for the purpose of serving the interests and welfare of its members who are owners and operators of rental housing properties. The association seeks to protect private property rights from the inroads of government controls, and to advise and disseminate information to its members relative to the more economical operation and maintenance of their rental properties.

Washington Landlord Association (WLA)

Started in 1996 under the name of Olympic Rental Association as a registered tax-exempt service organization, Washington Landlord Association soon found the need for a state-wide landlord organization to most effectively deal with legislative and local issues. Dealing with the same state and human rights laws, the WLA members encounter the same landlord problems and successes, no matter what part of the state. Exchanging their experiences and ideas has become a major resource for the entire WLA membership through the 22,500 annual mailings of WLA's Quarterly (newspaper). In other words, the full scope of WLA's services are best realized with the pooling of resources and communications throughout the WLA's local meetings regularly held at over 15 Washington towns and cities.

The LandLord Association of the Inland Northwest, a private non-profit corporation, was formed in 1971 by residential property owners and managers concerned with creating and maintaining an atmosphere in which small (or large) private enterprises could survive the increasing demands made by government agencies, legislative action and tenant groups.
